Has anyone had any problems with the auto tranny in a first gen CL? I was just reading through the Transmission Problems forum and it sounds like second generation trannies are pretty screwed up.

I have extended warranty on My '98 2.3 that pretty well covers against any transmission problems.. If these things are known to fail I wanna kick the shit out of it before the warranty expires.

 

Just about everyone with the 3.0 cl has/will have tranny problems. I have not read many bad things with the 2.3 auto-over time it will go that's a given, but these trannies last longer than the 3.0.

I got a 2.3, I got my car less than a year ago. It looked like they didn't take care of the tranny. Tranny fluid looked a tad old. But i had it flushed and changed, and got a couple of places to check it. There is nutting wrong with mine currently and I have 80k. I got it when it was around 68k. The shifting is normal, no sounds etc. I only really hear about the 3.0 having it, but that is not really that common.

 

mine sucks on my 2.2 .........revs inbetween gears sometimes............but i treat it like shit!!!!!!!!!

 

i trashed the shit out of my CL for about 100,000, now i am feeling the effects.
