Tranny leak?
I was underneath the car today doing my oil change and before i started draining the oil i noticed my tranny was covered in oil, one of the bolts had the largest collection of oil around it so im assuming that is the leaking point. I am putting the car on blocks for the next few months within a few weeks so i don't want to spend a lot of money on pulling the trannny down opening it up, and resealing it (thinking thats what would need to happen...?) So my question is this, can i just check the fluid levels and keep an eye on the MTF levels? Adding more as i need it? To my knowledge the MTF hasnt been touched since i got the car unless the shops do it at oil changed.
There is a high pitched noise coming from the tranny area when the car is running, im worried it may be caused by the decrease in fluid...
Any ideas? Would it be safe to just add more MTF and keep checking the fluid levels for about a month?

i dont think so because i had the same issue and i added lucas and it helped with the leak but it still had some leaks and ive heard pretty bad things about breaking the seal of the tranny. i thought the same thing and they told me it would defently blow after the seal change.

I'd try to wash down the trans and see if that's the source of the leak. If so, I'd put some sealant around the bolt and refill the trans to the right amount. If not, keep searching for the leak, it could be a hairline crack somewhere which wouldn't be good.
