tranny i think is gone
i was driving home from a friends house and when i let my foot off the gas the check engine light came on and it wouldnt come out of 4th gear..... even when i stopped it stayed there and i had to rev the piss outta it to get her going. Is there anything else it could be other than the tranny? It goes into park, reverse and neutral fine but with a hard jult and when i put it in D4 it goes in 3rd or 4th gear and when i put it into 1st it sometimes goes in 2nd and sometimes 1st.
i would appreciate any help you could give me and if anyone knows of a place that could rebuild a tranny for cheap or knows somewhere i could get it fixed i would appreciate it.

I had the same problem
My transmission had the exact problem. I panicked and ran to get a used transmission. I put in that used transmission thinking everything is going to be fine. It ran a little better but still my 1st to 2nd gear changing goes kind of ackward. THe mechanics told me it is best to run a diagnostic on it. My suggestion is to run the diagnostic on it first and see if it is electrical or really mechanical. For all I know, my panicking costed me $1500.oo bucks

well i just put a tranny cooler on it but im not running the synthetic fluid like said to because it spilled everywhere so im using the regular tranny fluid but its brand new..... but i will go to autozone or somewhere to get a diagnostic and see what it says..... the thing is i just had the car inspected yesterday and everything came up fine on that so im thinking it must be something in the tranny... tell me more about the linkage shit how do i get that fixed?
and its a 3.0 with 105K with orignal tranny with many mods

timing belt was changed with pullies about 20 K ago and im goin to autozone to get a diagnostic not to get the car fixed cause im not 100% postive it is my tranny so what good would it do to go to a tranny shop?

LOL thats not great news cause my shift silinoid went out and the part was 300 alone and each sensor is 200 each ata least
if the shift silinoid went bad look out for the tranny going bad soon too

cause i just replaced mine 2 months ago and i know how much it costs

basically it tells the tranny when to shift and in what rpm range, i have a picture of mine on my computer, here ya go

i race about everynight that might just be why my shift solenoid went out and trust me im trying my hardest to get my car back running to race dont you worry. but anyone with a useful post i could use it.
