has anyone used anything other than honda tranny fluid for their CL? if so.. did u notice any difference in performance? i kinda wanna try using royal purple tranny fluid.. but im not sure if its gonna kill my tranny.. haha.. i remember someone long time ago saying to "ONLY use honda ATF" ...

I use Amsoil Universal Synthetic ATF. I did a near complete transmission fluid exchange (~7 qts) NOT using a transmission flush machine. It shifts smoother, but transmissions always feel like that after changing the fluid. Almost 10k miles later; the transmission is still running, up shifts are smooth after warming up and the fluid is still red.

I also have a bad clutch-pack somewhere too because sometimes when slowing down, the car will shift hard into 2nd. I had this when I was still on Honda ATF. I attempted to use a synthetic fluid in hopes it would make the transmission last longer. Now I only notice the transmission shifts hard into 2nd when slowing down and I don’t drive the car easy before the car is in normal operating temperatures.

So I thought it had slight benefits and my transmission is still alive. But it may be different for another owner.
