Tranny cooler installed 2.2
installed the hayden tranny cooler 1676 compact to mid size
easy as pie....1/4 the work than 3.0
everything is in reach....workin on a DIY with pics..
here ya go..how i did mine.
before installing, buy an extra 3ft of tranny fluid hose...now you should have two lines of about 3ft.
next to the battery..on the right there are the two tranny lines, these are the ones that come and go to the radiator, one closer to you and one behind it.
the closer one is the one you use (the tranny return line) you can tell by starting the car and while holding the brake put in d4 or d3. wait 15 secs then put back in park, turn off and then check those two lines.
One will be warmer than the other. The cooler one the the return line...the one you use.
i mounted mine right behind the grille on the ac condenser on the left side (battery side). Dont mount just yet..wait till the end.
..disconnect from below at the radiator first...because some fluid will drain out..one spoon full or so...put a rag underneath..then remove top part.
connect one hose to the cooler, tighten clamp and run it to the tranny return line going sideways through a hole in a white/clear plastic panel..connect and tighten hose clamp.
connect the other hose to cooler and run that one back through the same hole and connect to tranny line at the bottom of radiator. tighten clamp.
make sure all clamps and hoses are secure. Now mount using the hardware provided. Thats it!
estimated time: 30mins.
me...1 1/2 hrs...didnt buy extra hose..and had no ride to get it
any Q's..hit me up.

not really...i changed the fluid a week before installing....still smooth...
but the cooler is meant to keep the fluid temp from overheating and causing damage.
if you drive hard...like i do sometimes...i notice that after a while of driving it doesnt shift as smooth....but now it shifts smoother for a longer period of time.
i installed because i knew i will drive the cl hard and that i will keep this car for awhile....so its to keep ME form desrtoying the tranny

before u install it maybee the day before, feel the cooler hoses that are currently there as soon as u turn off your car. and it will be hot as hell like antifreeze hot. then install ur cooler and run the car then feel the hoses... thier still hot but maybee hot water out of the tap hot. huge difference.
