Mine was 15.99 w/ Venom 400 and no CAI (on a hot day this past summer). I'm going to try again this weekend (much cooler, Venom 400, and OBX intake).

Hey, I'd like to burn a little rubber myself, just curious of what I can do as I progress with my mods. Give me a shout and I may want to go with you this weekend.

D.,

I'll probably roll out late morning or early afternoon on Saturday. We're supposed to get snow on Sunday. Not a good time to do time trials.

Thanks!

Can't find a track open here at this time of the year.

I'll take dajuice27 along with me, and we'll terrorize I-270 (a 12-lane Interstate) with our time trials!

I'll preface this post by saying that these times were taken with the GTech Pro, and do not represent what you would get at the track!

Now, for the news:

dajuice27 and I just got back from some informal time trials out on the local Interstate.

Here's what I got (dajuice27 will add his later):

Temp. low 40's
Both of us in the car (420 lbs. total + 30 lbs misc. "stuff" in the car) total weight = 3219 advertised CL weight + 450 = 3669 (rounded to 3670)

Front wheel HP: 188 (corrected for weight)

0 - 60: 7.12 (NOT corrected for weight)

1/4 mile: 15.49 @ 94.3 MPH (NOT corrected for weight)

These were less than "perfect" conditions. We were litterally waiting for gaps in traffic in order to get a clear run.

dajuice27's numbers were similar (he actually registered more HP, but a little slower 1/4 ET).

At the bottom of someone's post, you'll see a "button" that you can click on that says "quote". Click on that, then type your message as normal.

I believe power braking refers to keeping the brake on as you apply pressure to the gas. Once you've reached an optimal RPM, you let go of the brake, and "launch" forward.

Woo Hooo!!!!

Thanks Dustbuster4, it was great!!!!

My times were as follows.

HP was listed as 180 and 191, so I'll take the average at 186.

1/4 mile times was 15.59 seconds, without power braking.

Trap Speed was 92.7 mph.

I am satisfied since I left some of the electronics on like the heater and flashers, but I know she can run faster. With a few mods, I shall try to tackle the 14 second range early ths Spring.

1stGenCL, sorry about that man, wish we could have cauht up with you, it would have been better to have 3 folks running for times. Maybe we can convince dustbuster4 to try this again in the near future?

starting off in 1 gets you into vtec range a whole lot quicker and shifting into 2 D3 and D4 just keep you in vtec while shifting.

I tried that on a HP run, and got the lower reading, so I just floored it from 4th, and got better times and readings. next time, I'll try both methods while power braking.

Believe it or not, we actually got better ETs leaving the tranny in D4 compared with starting in 1st and manually shifting through the gears. dajuice27 can also attest to this.

hey bryanz3.0cl,

the G-TECH is off by alittle bit all the time. with intake you should be about 15.7 or 15.6 at best. if you get the headers and the exhaust then you should be low 15's or high 14's in the 1/4 mile.

How bad is power braking on your car?

I know it supposed to be the best way to launch an automatic...but I don't want to fux up anything.

u can take 3rd to like 100 n e ways. why shift into 4th unless ur cruisin on the highway. i keep my slowmatic in 3rd when racing until i start redlining. if it breaks GOOD! acura can fix it and hopefully i can talk them into giving me a 5spd if i pay the difference in labor.
