Well - my sis and i have the same car - in fact, my 97 cl was hers a few years ago and i bought it from her - staying true to the game, she went out and bought another cl 97 2.2 5speed Champagne color - got a hell of a deal on it too - anyways, hers isnt hooked up but it got totaled this past weekend in Tampa - St. Petersburg - i took a bunch of pics and put them on a website for you all to check out - I cant believe how well the ACURA held up!! She suffered a broken rib and some lower spine injury but for the most part - she is okay. The quick and easy story - she got tagged in the back left quarter panel by a flat bed tow truck when he merged into her lane - this sent her spinning across the intersection (the opposite direction) and into a park bench - pole - and sign - check the site here Totaled Out Acura

that, and a totaled car is when the value to fix is worth more then the car. I've seen cars w/ little damage be called totalled because the cars simply weren't worth much. A good amount of front end damage on a CL could easily be 6-7K to fix

 

damn, hate those tow truck bastards especially if you go to a party in a college town. tallahassee is a tow truck heaven

Yeah - i didnt think that they would total it out either but all four sides of the car were damaged and the frame is bent in the rear too - she is doing fine now too, thank you all for your concern - When you add up the damage that i could see [complete replacment of the entire suspension including factory rims, tires, etc. (as we all know already) - aftermarket parts are cheaper than stock parts and i personally have nearly 3k in my suspension using aftermarket stuff. Then the paint job all the way around the car and the replacement of both the left and right rear sides of the car - it adds up quick - wholesale value of the car is 7200.00 and her my rear-end accident from my cl was 6500 to fix alone. Parts for our cars are actually hard to find in junk yards, etc so OEM has to be used in most cases - that brings the price up too - but any which way - she's probably getting a bimmer now - plus she will be getting paid nicely from the tow truck company that hit her too i'm sure I will let you know what the total check amount is that they cut for her! I'm curious to know myself! Thanx again
