tornado!!!
tornado!!!
anyone seen that product called the tornado! it says anywhere from 5-20 hp depending on your car. i saw on a maxima forgot what year but it was 3.0 engine and it had a 24 hp gain. its a little thing that goes in your intake and it forces the air flow into a more direct shoot and mix into the engine. i seen it on a commercial and i dont know how to explain it all that well. anyone seen or know anything about it?
Yeah i know what you are talking about. They work on the same "basic" concept on the chevy vortec engines. They are not the same product at all though! The tornado, i have heard is all bull, i have a friend who works at a shop and tried one for free. He said it didnt add nething at all. If you want horses, do the intake, i am not even sure if you can run an intake and that "tornado" together. Anyone else know nething?
Isn't the tornado that little block with fins you put right after the throttle body? Its supposed to "swirl" the air and thus push more air through. I think its bull, but my uncle has it on his SUV and says he can actually hear it working. I think its just a state of mind. Waste of money if you ask me.
i was acutally thinking about getting getting 3 or 4 and sticing them into my intake. i think the change will be real big ill post the difference when i get it done let's see one is about 75 so that times 4 is about 300

are you being serious? I hope not, that thing is junk. Look at the power gains the get on the cars. The maxima with the 3.0 engine says the starting H.P. before the tornado was 70, I believe they have just a few more than that (something like double on a dyno).

i thought it was junk too, but there was a dude at a CL meet we had about a year ago who had one on his CL-S, and he had dyno charts to prove it helped a bit. Not much, but a bit.

its junk, stay away. Why else would they only advertise it being tested on old ass cars that noone drives or cares to mod- because they are the only pieces of shit that they could get it to work on.
They test only on old cars with big engines. On a big engine any slight thing makes a difference. change the intake on a Honda and it'll give you 5hp. Do it on an old beast like they test and it'll give you 20. Basically they are engineered so poorly that anything helps.
Look closely at the comercial. When the guy puts the tornado in the car he puts it into a K&N FIPK (aftermarket intake with K&N filter). Hmmm, was that there before when they dyno'd it?
Did the driver go WOT or not earlier?
What did they do to the car when they cut to the next frame in the shot?
It's all deception. Go out and get a piece of aluminum sheet, cut a long wide strip, then cut fin slashes on it and roll it into a tube so that it looks just like tornado and put it in your car. See if there's an improvement... total cost $10 max! Better than $60 min they want for that thing.

the 94-96 impala ss
corvette lt-1 powered 260 hp and rear wheel drive
(i know a lt1 makes more than 260 but for the impala they used iron instead of aluminum like the vette. go figure ?)
Do a search my friend... total piece of shit...
