Tints are next on my list, I live in California, and I've heard that the cops can be a bitch, what % should I get on the car? Its green, if that helps. Also, has anybody done anything with realtint.com? My friend had his car done their, and they offer a lifetime warrantee. Thanks,

If ya wanna' be legal, just ask the dudes that do the install. You can get ILLegal % windows if you want to take the chance.
They'll probably do it, but I can guarantee they wont give you ANY kind of warranty or a reciept for that matter.

I don't know the %, but I got legal (Florida) for the front two windows, and the same for the rear (I have a Valentine 1 radar detector, and didn't want to take away from the rear radar pickup), and limo (dark) for the rear two side windows.

Got a lifetime warranty for the whole car, for any installer, in any state that installs Solar Gard tint. Cost $110.00 total, with the windshield top in limo dark.

Maybe I made a bad decision with the rear window not as dark as I could have gone, but I had heard that radar detectors don't pickup well through darker tint. I didn't want to take a chance, and my Valentine picks up fine. (probably could have gone limo though but I guess I'll never know now).

 

The darkness won't matter much for radar waves. Just having the tint is the only problem. Now, laser is a diff story but if get "backshot" with laser - you're fucked anyway!


What color is the inside of your car man? If it's black, 35% will look ok (legal limit here). For a tan interior, 35% is almost nothing. I'm going to do 20% on mine.

 

CL Power got pretty dark tint on his car mite wanna check with him if he had any problems.
