Question Tinted Tail Light Question

Are Rockblocker tinted tails illegal in California? Is it both 35% and 20%, or just 35%? I don't think it is the tint film themselves, but how dim they make the light (which is illegal)? So, if anybody can make sense of the CA code HERE which is worded a little weirdly, would you mind posting your ? Thanks!

You couldn't pay me enough to live in Cali. Sure it's warm and sunny... but it shakes, burns, floods, and the laws governing auto appearance and emissions are just to much BS... Not to mention that front plate thing. FUGLY those are.

Don't really know for sure, but CHP passes by my car almost everyday on 405 freeway without any problem so far. I also see lots of high end car in So Cal with darker tint taillights, so just knock on wood!

The lighter tint you can still see through in the daylight, and light shines right through them at night. I often drive with my headlights on if i'm driving in an area i'll be around :cop: but the lighter one looks like just tinted tails, the other ones look almost black. I've seen lots of cars with stock tinted or blacked lenses.

its illegal if you cant see the reflectors. rockblocker has a disclaimer that these are "for show use only" so technically theyre illegal but wtf, so is like modding anything to your car nowadays

i honestly dont think you'll have a problem with the tint. the biggest factor is where in the bay do u live in? if your city/town is pretty anal i wouldnt recommend them. i have been through various cities in the bay area and no problem. i have even had cops drive behind me or ill drive past them.

Alright thanks guys, I'm mostly in San Jose and Santa Clara the most often, or somewhere around there. Any of you Bay people know about these areas? I haven't had a lot of experience with them yet, which is obvious.
