Timing belt ?

I know a lot of you have posted about what mileage to change your timing belt out at. I have asked one of the mechanics where I work (that used to be a Honda tech) when they usually changed out the timing belts. He told me they normally did it at 70k (2.2/2.3). Where did you guys get the info on when to change them out, and is there a year figure that goes along with mileage as well? Being as there isn't info in the owner’s manual or owners link on www.acura.com. I just want to make sure I don’t waste money changing it prematurely. I know it can't hurt, but I still can’t afford to just throw money around like that.

Thanks for your time

It really doesn't matter. Doing it early is the main goal because you don't want it to go out on you while driving. The manual says 105K for 3.0's, I'm not sure what it says for 2.2/2.3.

Honda's are good for 100K on Vtec engines... I'd do mine @ 90K to be safe. You DO NOT want it to break while driving!

there wouldnt be a problem until it broke. 116 is pushing it. i got 105, and im getting ready to do mine next weekend. then it breaks the engine litterally eats the valves, causing u to get new heads. $$$$lots of$$$$$ so just change it now before u got a problem, just some advice.
