time for a new transmission
Ok, so my 97 with 89k miles needs a new transmission. I pulled 2 codes PO700 and PO715 but today, the dealer just got a PO715 and said its the turbine speed shaft/torque converter which she said is the transmission i guess. so $3276.96..what the hell do i do?

its clearly up to u. i feel ur pain and so does most of the guys here... its not cheap but ur CL still has low miles. some of these guys have over 190k on their CLs. i mean this car will run if maintaining it the correct way. i rebuilt my CL @ 134K. i mean its worth it but at the same time most guys r at their 4th tranny. OR u could jus get another car with that same cash. perhaps a civic or a teg. i heard pretty good things about them and not much recalls such as trannys and motor

so they're hitting you for a whole rebuild even though it's just the TC? I would go to a tranny shop and see if they can just replace the TC to see if that helps

there's no junky yards that you cna get a tranny from ? or a shop that you can take yours to get fixed ? cuz i would not pay that much money to fix a car. i would just buy another one just like mo said

Im not sure...its funny though because all of this shit started last friday when i had to get it towed...and i finally was able to get it to the dealer today...my mom said forget the tow truck, just drive it and if it stops working, THEN we'll call AAA...but amazingly, I made it there with no problems. It worked fine today driving, but i guess the dealer is insisting i need a new one. Other shops around here want between 2800-3200 anyway...i love my car but shit thats a lot.
