1. what do those wheel/rim numbers represent?

X/Y/Z - i mean, i kinda figured Z is the size (diameter) of the rim in inches. am i correct? what about X and Y? is X the width? if it is, what's the measurement unit?

2. what is the size of biggest tire/rim that can fit on our car?

Tire dimensions are what you are asking about.

It's width in MM / hieght of sidewall as a percentage of width / wheel size being mounted to. So a 225/40/18 is:

225mm wide
40% of 225mm wide (90mm)
Mounts to 18" wheel

Depending on the wheel width (e.g 8.5"), you would get the appropriate width of tire. For an 18" x 7.5" wheel, 225/40/18 would be applicable. Some go with 235/40/18 or 235/35/18, but I think those don't sit on the wheel as nice.

Some of you guys paid way to much for your wheels. 1200 should be the max IMO.

still gotta mount and balance.. i think i got off with a good deal
