ok ever since i installed my headers ( over a year ago ) whenever i step on the gas i first here a psshhhhh sound ( kinda like air being released from a tire ) its progressivly getting louder i first hear this sound then exhaust followed buy intake but this sound is most noticable because it happens no matter the rpm i havent a clue what it is

could i have an exhaust leak and not even know it ? and if so how would i check ?

Did your check light go orange since it happened?.....try changing the header back to your oem....see what happens....just some suggestions

 

mine does it too. i think its the way its supposed to sound. even when u turn the car off, u hear the air releasing. as long as u dont feel like its losing power, it should be ok. and u have a DC header, so there should be noe problems as far as cracks in the welds

 

yea just checkin to see if everyone elses sounded like that

 

I have the Comptech headers with no noise. Did you try re-tightening the bolts? Can you identify where this noise is coming from?

its the noise of all that extra hp scrambling to get out.

 

Mine make that noise also, not as loud as yours, i think it sounds cool with the intake and exhaust. I wouldnt think anything of it, but check the bolts and maybe even the gaskets. Did you put them on or did a shop, because they might not have put in new gaskets and that could make that noise loud.

 

mine makes that sound when im at lower rpms or when i floor it untill it reaches 3400 rpm ( kinda sounds like a turbo noise of some sort ) anyways, i had the whole system and instalation inspected and everything was perfect its just the noise they make. hopes this helps
