Thinking about it...again

Hey everyone, I was thinking that it might be time to get rid of the CL. I love the car but it seems like it has been a lot of trouble recently, and i need a car with lower mileage.

I was looking into getting a VW Jetta GLX, a 5spd possibly. What does everyone think? They are pretty nice cars.

GLX jetta's run 27,900 fully loaded.

for that price you can get a passat GLX

or a loaded passat 1.8T with a chip, full exhaust, intake and diverter valve

as long as you do your maintenance every 5,000 miles, VW wont give you a problem.

Haven't you been talking about getting rid of your cl for 3 years now?

LMAFO

You want to get out of your cl because it has probs but your looking to get a jetta? Hmmmmm......?

Lay off the junk man!

Get a 240sx and swap that lil turbo monkey in there and drift the night away. You will be alot happier with that then a VW.

there's a reason why VW is europe's number one auto manufacturer.....

don't hate on a car unless you've experienced it.

VW's are some of the most fun cars to drive

hmmmmmm. experienced it@! It sucked and cost alot of money. Fuck VW!

sorry bro....just my opinion.

Did you know VW is actually made in Mexico? I do!

I had to research alot of shit when dealing my ex's jetta....submitting recall lists, etc.

The car was in the shop once a month.

VW is europe's number one auto manufacturer because it's cheap!

yeah VW has a plant in mexico b/c american unions want almost triple cpay for the same work. only 1.8T jettas and all beetles come from mexico.

2.0 jettas and most GTI's come from brasil
all passats come from germany direct.

VW had 2 problems that affected most their cars in certain engines,
1. ignition coil packs---supplier fucked up, VW dropped the supplier
2. window regulator clip-- made of hard plastic and fluctuating weather conditions made it snap easy--2003's and above now come with aluminum clips.

VW was MADE as a company to be cheap and affordable, no doubt about it.

but if they sucked so bad, i wonder why they lead the nation in non-luxury brands for resale value? only third in total manufactuers next to lexus and mercedes

Look. just stating personal experience. I would just never buy one. Although friends of mine have had some pretty sweet old school gti's with 350k miles etc. I just can't stand the cars. I loved em until I had to deal with my ex girls car all the time and the reason I had to deal with it is because I convinced her to get the car because as far as i knew it was a great car.

They are just flimsey cars to me.

I guess with anything else, You gotta love em to own one and keep it healthy.

I blame it all on my experience.

Big Ups For knowin your facts. I like that.
You put me in line. =)

if youre gonna get a jetta, go the 1.8t route and chip it. it'll be faster than the V6.

hahaha thats funny.........

sorry your girl had her car fuck up alot.

my girl bought her jetta asl well b/c i recommended it and I was a salesman for VW for 2 years. So she got one cheap.

the biggest turn on at the beginning of my knowledge of VW I remember every single person who had one just couldnt stop smiling when they talked about how fun it was to drive and how cheap it was to buy. Anyone you would come along at a meet would bend over backwards to help you or be friendly to you. Plus, at the time 1999-2001.5 they were the brand that came out with the 10 year/100,000 mile warranty that you see kia and hyundai pimp now.

if you want a car that gives you NO trouble, wont break down, you dont have to maintain, and is inexpensive to buy, get a camry. If owning a refridgerator doesn't sound appealing, buy anything ya want! Except for Ford and GM!

Yeah anyone would, that's why they cost more comprably equipped. Well at least the coupe does anyway.

Now there is no way you can compare a jetta to a G35. C'mon!

I understand that old people that don't go over 3k rpms love how there Vw drives. But there is no comparison in performance when putting a Jetta next to a g35.

I'm sorry......Fuck this! Fuck VW! Fuck em up there german / mexican asses!

I'm done with this thread.

I'm not sure what the jetta runs in the 1/4 but the g35 runs 14's. I went to the dealer here and looked at a blue one with the stock areo kit that was going for 27,500 out the door. If they gave me about a $1000 more for my cl i would be driving a g35 today.

If you're going to get a Jetta, get a GLI. It's similar to the GLX VR6, but it's the sportier version, and you can get it with a 6 speed.

lol, you guys think I am going to go uot and buy a brand new vw jetta glx? What are you guys crazy, if I ahd that much money I would definitely buy a g35 or 350z or even a new cl or tl. I mean used with low mileage. The ones that I am looking at have about 27000 miles on them and are 5speeds with leather, for about 13k.
