They won't paint it?!!!!!!!!

I've been to at least four different body shops and they have refused to paint the skirts on my car. I took the advice from you guyz and told them to paint it anyway and they have refused. They say the plastic that the factory (side front and back) skirts are made of a polymer that has a release agent and is not made to be painted. Yet I see plenty of guyz on this forum with pics of them painted. Is anyone from Virginia that can recommend me to someone or do you have any other idea of what I can do. Any input would be appreciated

you dont need a gun, some paint supply auto stores can mix the paint and put it in a spray can for ya, well the shop around here does that

i'm not suprised abotu the window chrome much, it'd start pealing pretty fast, and the same would probably happen to the 97 side skirts.

yea, it's hard to get paint to stick to it. You see the same shit w/ people who when they repaint their cars the people do a shitty job and paint that lower plastic grill. That shit starts peeling quick

I think the last gen TL has tape around it too. My cousin's TL black piece was pilling and we looked and it was chrome under it..but the dealer replaced it for her. Cause black looks better....

Yeah, I do have a 97 CL. I would like to paint the stock skirts myself, but I had a devil of a time trying to take them off. I pretty much just gave up trying to take them off hoping someone would paint them with it on the car, but noone will touch them. Does anyone knows how to take them off? If I could, then I'll just try and paint them myself

anyone paint their mudflaps? I'm thinking of removing them and taking them to a body shop to get painted white to match the car...how much do you think it would cost, and would the paint just end up peeling and cracking?

it'd most likely peel and crack. I also don't think it'd look good

Ive had mudflaps painted for 50 bucks at a shop...looked damn good too

on my last car, an acura legend, I used black electrical tape and toothpicks and lined the chrome around the windows to black it out and it held up until i traded it in with no bubbles or any peeling and i washed the car once a week
