Exclamation ThermoBloc Performance mod

Hey Guys,

Didn't know how many of you are interested in the ThermoBloc, but I've been working with Jonesi and Sean at Outlaw Engineering on getting us a bit of a discount.

Sorry, I didn't get the final heads up on the post, but act quick if you are interested.

Anyway, here is the link to the AcuraZine Black Market GB thread.

Soo I hate to ask, but i searched and found a writeup and a bunch of people claiming how much HP and TQ it gave. Soo I take it, this product is just spacers that create more HP and TQ?? Man, I want to buy, but I know the install is too complicated for me, and theres no way I would pay someone to install it for me. (the shop I go to wanted $350 for a header install alone....this install would be like $500)

Doesn't seem too complicated, the only part that I see as a pain would be the header part, but I'll just wait till I get my headers. But this is a hell of a deal, and the dyno's show proven improvement. Looks like a good cheap mod if you feel like removing your throttle body or intake manifold. I want to order them real bad.

thats just it...headers are enough for me....taking apart the throttle body and intake manifold would be a pain in the ass and im not good enough with engine work to know what i'd be doing. If I tried this install, i'd totaly jack something up and ruin my engine. I wish i'd be able to find a place what could do it for cheap...

If changing your plugs or headers is a bit challenging, I'd tend to agree with your apprehension.

Try calling a couple of places and ask how much they'd charge to replace the intake gasket as that would give you a pretty good idea of what it'll cost.

You can also find out who in your area does mod meets. We have one planned for the DFW are and guys who are in your boat are getting theirs done by some of those that do. The cost is they pitch in to bring drinks and food for a BBQ.

Dude! It only took me about 2 hours to install my injectors. It's pretty much in the same direction. Just a few bolts, just like legos I'll admit I couldnt take off my throttle body though, cause it just wouldnt budge. But all it takes, is just staring at the thing, lol, I swear. Look for the bolts and unscrew them!

Im not a engineer nor do i know much about cars, but I think it keeps the air coming into the engine cooler and in turn more dense. Denser/cooler air = more power.

Feel free to correct me if im wrong.

Not true. I guarantee you. You will find a 2.2 somewhere out there that will be a lot more powerfull then 3.0s.
