Be Thankful for this Board!!!
You guys/gals don't even understand how good we have it on the CL board. I was stumbling around on hondahookup and found this thread:
http://www.hondahookup.com/phpBB/vie...5294&forum=1&5
- Yeah, just port your head with a dremel. It's easy.
- $500-$700 depending upon what stage porting
- 45hp from polishing? AFR doesn't even claim that increase with their top of the line heads in a motor with twice the cylinders.
- The rest of the board is even better. A poster claiming to have a turbo'd Nissan sr20det motor in a Civic simultaneously posts that Honda motors are more reliable then Nissan motors when boosted.
To all CL Board Mods and Posters: Thank you!

Yup, that would be the right way to do it. You can port and polish all you want with a Dremel, but unless you know what and where to do it, it will most likely decrease your performance. This is where experience helps - like going to a shop that is familiar with Honda motors or whatever motor you are dealing with.

Apple tech needing a h22a
you are not going to want to just go in and hack and slash yer shit.
if you cut to much out you can loose velocity and import motors need every ounce they can get
the idea it to let more air in faster so to do that you make the head so air doesnt tumble and create dead spots
there is alot that goes along with it so if you got a hold of a flowbench you can still destroy our head

Oh, c'mon. Like we don't have our share of stupid shit here. I don't want to be specific enough to single people out...but I remember plenty of threads about inflated HP claims and ridiculous racing stories.

Alright, 99CL2.3, I don't wanna get in your shit...but how 'bout a little recap. We are making fun of people for misspellings and ignorance about porting? Nothing like a little bigotry to make yourself feel better, eh?
You've already said, "most of the younger import kids have ... no clue about the workings of an internal combustion engine."
I don't know who you're trying to include in your exclusive ignorance-hating club, because the quote above makes it clear that you look down on *all* kids ... not just those on the Honda page. I'm gonna be the first "young import kid" to stick up my hand and say that I've never ported a head and I'm not sure how much HP (if any) it would net me. Furthermore, I occasionally make spelling errors.
Listen 99CL2.3, by your previous posts you've already made it clear that you know at least a little bit about cars. Congrats. But I don't see how that entitles you to bash other enthusiasts over trivial detials. That post was just another lame attempt at gathering approval from the group. I'm calling you on it.
I have no intention of patting you on the back, telling you how smart you are, or otherwise relaxing your insecurities. So yes, you did give me too much credit.

OK, so I started a thread thanking the mods AND the posters, but I guess I gave you too much credit.
