suspension
suspension
whats up guys? i need some help with my suspension. i really love my car but if i can't make it any smoother i don't think i want it. i recently bought a set of kyb agx. they feel alright, there not that bad. i put them on my old sportline springs 2 inch drop. but its like dam it dosen't feel all that smooth. my front upper control smack the fender wall every now and then. is there any way i can get rid of the control arms hitting or can i just get or springs or coilovers that will make the ride silky smooth. what do you guys think is the smoothest set up for suspension. i'm willing to spend the dough cuz i basically have done everything else possible like paint rims all that. help plzzz

The KYB's sqwish when you go over small bumps and the ProKit clanks over the big ones!
CNDC, do you really like the TEINS that much? Any problems with them? I'm on my second pair of KYB's and I'm sick of them. What model Teins did you get for the Accord or the 2.2 CL?
I e-mailed Tein since I have a 3.0 and they said that they "we cannot guarantee fitment with your vehicle".

Clanks over big bumps??? Never experienced that over here. Might that noise be a blown shock...I have one of those and it makes a small noise over tighter bumps but I just need to replace the shock

You can go over speed bump and up driveway with ease. haven't bottomed out once. I wish my car was a little lower but love the way it rides.

I have the KYB's set at 2 in the front, 4 in the rear. I had them set to 1 in the front and 2 in the rear, but just recently I may have actually heard my shock blow because of a heavy load. I may be going to Tein soon anyway.
The clanks are from the springs clapping against each other. It doesn't happen all the time, but if you don't slow down over a set of ruts/ pot holes going around 25-35, you'll hear it.
It could just be me. I may just be too "noise" sensitive. I can hear any squeak or rattle in the car and I will try to locate it.
I have prokit and tokico illuminas 5 way adjustable. The pro kit does make clunk noise, but not so much that will make u hate it. I use to have sportlines and tokico blues and to me they are too stiff/bouncy and bottom out easily. 2 inch plus of drop plus is meant for the track not street. With the sportlines, i feel unfortable everywhere i go because of the damage i might make to the car, even down my drive way i scrub the bottom! And O my! The camber issue is a biatch, tires wear out on the inside within 2 months of use.

Your not gonna get a stock ride when you lower your car. Not gonna happen. It may come close, but not exact. Your ride is supposed to be stiffer when you lower your car. Thats why you lower it. Less body roll, tighter feel, tighter cornering. Lowering shocks are meant to be stiffer. Its the nature of the beast. They are supposed to give a sports car feel.
