Just wondering about the compatibility of 2.3 CL aftermarket springs on a 3.0 CL. I've been looking at the 2.3 springs and I'm just wondering the pro's and con's of going with them versus 3.0. I know that I'm going to compromise some of the ride characteristics, just how much? Any 3.0 owners out there running on 2.3 suspension?

btw...How much of a weight difference is there between the two cars?

 

curb weight for a 99CL

2.3 - 3120 lbs
3.0 - 3285 lbs

not that much difference in weight...

 

If you buy springs for a 2.3 and slap them on a 3.0, it would probably ride bouncy. Because of the different spring rates.

Why don't you just buy spring for a 3.0?

 

ive got a 2.2 and im riding on 3.0 suspension, skunkworks with koni yellows, rides sweet to me, the 3.0 has a heavier front so i figure the coilovers would differ a lot but it dosent really matter, the ride will be fine

Not yet, I'm going to have to wait until I get back from my trip. Hey how hard is it to remove the starter? I'll get back to you about those springs.

Not hard. It's 3 bolts I think. 5 minute job with an impact wrench.

 

How often do you guys get together? Most of the time I don't even venture into town.

well, we have cruises every now an then, we had a big meet that i made in june, you can check out the footage on speedhawaii.com or streetreditions.net, but the last time we met up was the last saturday of august, it was just me, eric, and dennis

i plan on doing a huge CL/TL/RL meet this coming fall/winter, might invite the accords too, anywho, if your down you can pm me with your number and ill give you a call when we meet up again
