Has anyone ordered a non-honda/acura deflector for the sunroof?

where did you buy it? what brand? what size? how easy did it install? how much was it?

thanks!

When I bought the car I ordered the 2 smallest sunroof deflectors that GT Styling (GTS) offered and it didn't fit properly (I don't remember the length of it but it was slightly too big). I'm not 100% sure, but I'm thinking you may need to go with the Acura deflector unless another company makes one that fits.

Call A and H Motorsports, best prices for factory. I would not buy aftermarket on this item. I have the factory one and it fits perfect and no problems since 97.

A and H Motorsports number is 800-543-5525, http://www.ahmotor.com/

When I bought my CL, the dealer had already installed the factory sunroof wind deflector. The first thing I did when I got home was take it off, because I didn't think it made that much difference as far as wind noise is concerned and I feel that it breaks up the sleek look of the car. In any event, it's been sitting in my closet ever since. If you'd like to buy my just-about-brand-new one, make me an offer I can't refuse...

There is a company that makes aftermarket "factory style" moonroof deflectors.... they look and mount just like the origional, and I think they are about $90, I cannot think of the company off hand, but I know they are out there. Try JC Whitney maybe. I think one from the dealer is like $120 or $130... I dunno, but that would save a lil cash. Dont buy the GTS or auto ventshade ones... they stick to the paint with that 3M adhesive and the paint sometimes comes with it if you ever take it off... plus sometimes they just decide to come off by themselves going down the road... especially if the car wasnt prepped right... lol. BTW, the one from my 90 accord fit my car too... I never put it on but the roof is the same size, so if you wanna buy one used try accord owners too.

I agree w/ Iceman. I don't see much of a difference it would make on cars w/ the tilt up feature for ventilation. On our older Accord where it didn't have the tilt up feature, the deflector helped to keep out noise and stuff when one just wanted a bit of fresh air into the cabin. Yeah, so I don't think it does much for our cars since we already got the tilt up feature which does the trick just fine. Oh well, to each his/her own, I guess. Me, personally, though, I didn't feel the need for it. :p

And I agree with Maui, I don't think it makes a difference.
Older cars often had bad baffeling noise when just the sunroof was opened but i drive with it open a lot on the freeway and other than normal "window" noise it's fine.
I also think it breaks up the sleek look too.
I see toomany family wagons with this deflector, so It's acually being different NOT to have one.

well, the ppurope is similar to rain guards on yuo side windows... it is supposed to allow you to open you moonroof alil bit when raining to get air and not get wet.. it's pointless and IMO its ugly and takes away from the sleekness of the car!!!

not worth $50 or so $$$$$!!!!!

Well excuse me Casper!

I have the sunroof deflector and I personally love the way it looks on my car. That along with the factory wing differentiates my car from all the other black CL's that I see in my area. (Not to mention that it's dropped now). I drive with the sunroof open all the time and even in slight rain I can leave it open a little and not worry about water, etc.

The one thing that does piss me off about it is that when i don't have time to handwash the car and go to a car wash, they never clean the soap out from under the visor and I have to do it by hand. That's alright, no tip for them!

Casper, you'll see on Thursday or Sunday.
