heres my problem, before i bought the car, the guy had a aftermarket HU and put in sony xplods all around.
when he sold it and he took his HU and the front speakers..now this has been buggin me because only the rear speakers work now, n they are shitty as hell. i thought it was because of the amp, so when i went to bypass it, it was already bypassed, so i tried to reverse the bypass and spliced the wires back to normal ( all colors leading back to the same ones) and when i tried to turn it on, it didnt work, no sound.

bypasses= shitty sound, even when turned up all the way, a 99cent boombox is louder.
when tryin to return it back to normal= no sound

help me?

 

Find an aftermarket deck, or stock NON bose deck and run new speaker wires from the deck to all the speakers. The stock bose deck does not put out enough power to run speakers, its only a pre-amp signal.

If the harness in the trunk for the amp has already been hacked to hell, its best to leave it alone and start fresh.

 

Run new wires and start over

 

damn this is gunna suck, o well i'll just have a to go awhile with no music...i already got a subwoofer..either 2 8" no name subs, or a 15" EV concert subwoofer 2400 watts of short term peak power =] (not my idea, my dad wants to experiment)..
so im gunna need a new deck, amp, and wires right?

hmm, i highly doubt that box is the proper size for that driver... drivers like that usually use huge ported boxes.

Oh yea, plus its an 8 ohm driver... so whatever car amp you hook up to it, the power will be cut in half.

 

very true..the speaker use to be paired up with a 12"; in a speaker box about the same size as the CL's trunk..but i dont know..im just waiting for my dad to be done so i can hear it

 

You can make do without running new wires... you'll just need to re-bypass the amp. Which will take alot of testing to figure out which wire is what from the deck and match the colors to each of the speaker locations for the speaker wires.

That way you'll keep the OEM speaker wires, your new deck will just plug right in with a harness adapter and your new speakers can connect to the wires already in place.

Running new wires isnt that bad, the only real trouble spot is through each door jamb.

Oh, and you wont NEED an amp, only if you want more power to the main speakers.. or are adding a sub, like it seems you're planning on doing.

 

well first i just want some music...the sub is just a little project that my dad is doing when he has time, which is rarely, but o well i'll just find a cheapo old school deck.

i had 2 8's in my supra with an old school JVC deck 45x4, and it hit pretty good with NO amp, so i'll be happy with a 50x4 deck and hook up my 8's to that
