hey i have a stock 1999 3.0 CL and i was wondering whats the difference between a strut bar and a sway bar? Location? Function? Any brand suggestions? I've heard sways snap on our cars, or is that the 2nd gen CLs...thanx

 

the reason why i am considering these is cuz our CLs have hella body roll and stuff, or at least thats how it feels to me...

 

Strut bars "tie" your shock towers together (one under the hood, and one in the trunk). Strut bars stiffen the chasis.

Sway bars attach to your suspension to cut down on the body roll that you're talking about.

 

strut bars are pretty much for looks under the hood and in the trunk and sway bars are where your gonna get you handling.

 

any word on sways snapping though?

strut bars help out. i have one in the under the hood and one in the trunk, even tho we already have one in the hood after adding the back one i felt a difference, i need to get the lower tie bar that should help a lot. sway bars i dunno about those i would like to kno tho, so u people out there who has n e info on sway bars post away.

i got front and rear strut bars.....it helps.....they are NOT JUST FOR LOOKS



i got front and rear sways....works great.....get em.....not too expensive....EASY install....any monkey with half a brain can install it

 

i have had problem finding these products because no one compnay i know of makes all the parts so what compnay makes all these parts
or who makes a good front and back sway for a 2.2 92 and front and rear strut bar upper and lower and torsioon bars who the hell makes them for our car

 

any one got anything i am getting rims and tires first and then upgrading suspension componets for a h22a install so please help i need it
i jsut want the car built for a h22a so you will also see my post about rims an tires i ask what you guys think because i dont have taste to say hehehe

as for strut bars...front, back upper, lower....whatever....
TONS of companies make em.....neuspeed, DC, eibach, cusco, tanabe, generic, etc. 97 accord bars fit with a bit if modification

Strut bar do help, you might not be able to see the big difference unless you are pushing your car.

 

If you are not acuto-crossing or involed in racing that requires turning and like a soft ride-you may not like the the strut/sway mods. It can make the car feel "jerky" at high highway speeds.

I beleive thta the true "spirit" of the CL is a that of a touring car that is designed for twisty turny roads. So the Strut/Sway mods make sense.

 

so what are tie bars? torsion bars? can anyone give me websites that sells sways for 3.0 CL?
