STOCK CL OWNERS

Hey guys! I've taken some new pics and have posted them on my photo page as a result of people inquiring about what my car looks like. It seems as though a lot of the other 1st GEN CL owners have a bunch of mods to their cars. Are there others like myself who are all stock? If so, let's see! Post the links to your pages and tell us about what you have in store for your car (if any). My basic 4-yr warranty just ended in April so now I'm more open to mods to increase the performance and stuff. Any suggestions? Comments? I'd love to hear from ya.

I've edited this post a bit. I want to see how many other GEN1 owners have their car fully stock like mines and Iceman's. Let's hear/see from ya!

Here's the link: My Photo Page

Thanks!

-Kelly

Hey welcome to the CL family. You have a nice car. Here are a couple of cheap mods you can do: Clear Bumpers for about $50(check ebay), Custom Mesh Grille $20 (www.speednstyle.com), and take out your Air Silencer $Free (search the forum I did a how to on it). Good luck!

I love the way the 3.0 engine looks. Sometimes I open my hood just to look at it and burn my fingers. That's a great picture of that.

I don't have a pictures page, although I'm working on it... I have webspace thru school and I was thinking about just making a webpage about the car and having all the pics on that, so then I can just direct you all to that... what do you think?

That sounds like a good plan! You could also upload your pics to yahoo and do the same thing.

Yes, nice car. I like the color. I was having trouble loading the images at first, not sure why since I have a T-1 here at work...

That's weird. No one else seemed to have a problem with it. Also, I did take extra care to set the camera to a lower setting so it could be easily uploaded and then viewed. Hmmm... don't know what could have caused that.

I agree, Casper. But, some of us are still in college and don't have the time nor the funds do that stuff... hehe... some of us are still eating top ramen! LOL J/K -- far from it, but anyway, I guess I'm generic. I like the stock "showroom" look. Thanks for the compliments, though. I wanted white when I was in the market but there were too many white ones on the road so I went w/ the Cypress. Keep checking back to my photo page for recent updates and stuff. I'm quite the snap-happy type w/ my trusty Sony Mavica. I have to delete the pictures of myself and friends to make room for my car pics. Anyway, laters... -Kelly

Casper is lucky to have been able to get mods if that's what he wanted. I don't really care for them myself. It's not a matter of cash (I was teasing bout that earlier) but more of a matter of preference. I like the stock look. So, you're still unemployed? Wow. How do you make ends meet? Mommy and Daddy? Lukcy you. It kinda shocks me that your univ didn't do more to make sure you were employed before graduation day. I know that's what my school does cause I've already gotten a handful of offers and am still a year away from graduation. Oh well, maybe things work differently back EAst.

No NO... Mommy & Daddy didnt do it all for me.. just the start of the car payments.. then the rest was up to me... I opted not to allow the school to help me.. the types of jobs they had available were for marketing firms/sales.. I want advertising...
I work as a graphic designer.. I have for years... soinceI was 12... But im tired of it....

Yeah, that's pretty sweet....

I almost got the Primrose when I got my CL new, but decided I probably wouldn't get tired of the Black.

I will admit, I LOVE the way the CL looks in black. But I used to own a black Saturn coupe so I know how hard black cars are to keep clean, plus I know how hot they get in warm climates (I bought my CL in Florida). Aside from being a little "girly", the primrose mist color has really endeared itself to me.

Tell me about it. I wash my car religiously every Saturday, sometimes even twice a weekend. Not to mention every little ding or scratch the shows up and the dust! It's just horrible, but I will never give it up....

My dark green color (cypress) is such a bitch and a half to keep clean. It's like sooo much harder to keep looking shiny and new compared to lighter colored cars I've owned. Ah, well, a labour of love, I suppose.

My COLOR isn't that hard to keep clean (something about the "pearl" aspect of it makes dust just look like more pearl, I guess) but my car is SO hard to keep clean these days because they're widening the road by my office... My car is parked outside all day and when I come out, it's covered with a layer of red dirt. One day I had even left my moonroof cracked and my windows open about an inch each, and when I came out to my car, my entire INTERIOR was covered with red dirt. It was horrible.

By the by, I have to say that Pledge Grab-it's are really great for cleaning dust off the interior.

Yeah, those things relly do help make cleaning easier Gosh, I have a funny story regarding dust and my interior. Well, I went to Hawaii for a few weeks and left my car parked out in the parking lot. When I came back everything looked fine (save for the layers of dust and dirt that had "caked" on from the periodic drizzle and stuff). Anyway, so I get in, I start the car up and the moment my car gets started and the A/C blows its first bit of air out... I get blown with dirt!!!! It was horrible. I was all ready to go somewhere and suffice it to say, I was pissed and already running late. Anyway, thought that was a funny story. That'll teach me! LOL
