The stock 'alarm' isn't really an alarm. It's just a keyless entry....and the alarm will sound if someone tries to open your door or something while it is set. t doesn't offer any impact sensing so you might want to look into either adding a shock sensor yourself, or getting the aftermarket alarm.

Yes, it will still go off. However your goods inside won't be safe. I added a shock sensor to help protect the wheels.

BTW, the factory alarm is manufacturered by Alpine.

If someone breaks the windows and then unlocks the doors from the inside of the car to open the door, the alarm will go off. Not if they just break the windows.

Wheel locks are nice, but they still get your wheels if they want them.

Exactly, hence the shock sensor. At least the alrm will go off as they are either jacking it up, or breaking the lugs loose.

Too bad they never allowed that european anti-car jacking flame thrower in the US Could have that hooked up to the alarm when triggered

Get auto insurance!!!

Seriously, get the added protection of an insurance policy that covers theft. If someone wants your shit, they'll take it. Doesn't matter what you do (except for the flame thrower, that sounds good).

I've had my head unit stolen out of my old jeep before. It was a decent pioneer. I didn't have the receipt for it anymore and they needed some proof that I purchased it. I still had the box for it and that was enough for them. It pays to be insured.

what? so you mean that my copied keys aren't supposed to work?

when the alarm is activated, the car won't start, so i guess that means it has starter kill on factory system

Alarms are nice.. but they will still get into your car if they want to. Thats just the way it is. Hearing an alarm nowadays won't even make you flinch. I feel that the stock alarm should do the trick of detouring with the red blinker, plus it does sound if the doors are open. All the rest of the fancy alarm shit just makes you think that you are more secure. False alarms are the most annoying thing on motion sensed vehicles. Then you never no when its the real deal... ( i've had my system stoll'n out of my honda prelude with a clifford alarm ) it went off and everything...

:wackit:

Some alarms do however guarantee there product up to a certain amount. That might me something to think about...?

our cars are not chipped. accords however are chipped. and i dont see any point in installing some super duper car alarm. if i wanted to break in your car i can with ease. all you gotta do it cut the alarm battery wires.
