Sticky situation
I used to have a school sticker on the inside of my rear windshield and I pulled it off about a month ago, planning to replace it since it was off center and had been bothering me. But, when I pulled it off it left a lot of sticky residue on the window. I tried to get it off w/ goo gone that day to no avail. I tried again tonite with goo gone with the same result and I'm afraid that since the sticky residue has been baking in the sun that it will be even harder to get off.
Any suggestions that you guys may have?
I am hesitant to use a razor to scrape it off since i don't want to mess up the defrosting mechanism.

eh id just use hot water with a paper towel
and then after its softened up get a wash cloth thats dry and then wipe it.
if that doesnt work, dab dry paper towel in Mineral Spirits... that'll definately work

i had that problem too, but it was an american flag (well once it was an american flag, by the time i went to take it off it was just a white rectangle). peeled the flag off and all the glue ended up still on the glass. what i did was soak a papertowel (folded to about the size of the affected area) with goo gone and then press the papertowel evenly against the glue, letting the googone soak into the glue. once the glue softens up, using the same papertowel or a newly soaked towel, rub the glue quickly and preferably in one direction. that should work, if not then soak the glue longer.

easiest = ronsonol lighter fluid -- breaks down the glue, takes it right off, just a rag, no razor. (don't smoke while cleaning tho
oh, clean it well with windex or something before applying new sticker (the lighter fluid leaves a slippery residue that repels stickers)

soak it down with goo gone, let it get real gooey, then use real thin steel wool and scrub lightly. ive removed tint glue with ammonia and steel wool no problem with defroster or antenna wires.

The way I always used it was putting it on a rag first as opposed to just spraying it on the area.
