Steering Wheel Emblem

Hey guys !!

I recently purchased a new rim for my car b/c I screwed one up. The center cap was included with the new wheel. So, I had an extra center cap on my hands. I thought it would be neat to put the chrome emblem on my steering wheel ! I just took the old center cap off the wheel, removed the Acura emblem, sanded off the old glue, and re-glued it to my steering wheel ! I think it looks pretty damn good, what do ya'll think ??

Looks nice... but that is definitely not safe if you get into an accident. The original one was designed with the airbag in mind... but the one you have is bigger and definitely questionable.... I'd re-think that if I were you.....

Wheels Keep on turnin

I think the wheel looks great. I would be concerned about the projectile created buy the emblem. Just remember to duck! Where did you get the wheel and what did you pay? It really dresses up your car.

I didn't think about the projectile aspect of the emblem !! I lucked up and got the wood wheel off ebay for $200. I installed it myself in about 30 min. The cheapest wheel I have seen since I bought mine was $325, so I guess I got a great deal !!

The cool thing is if the airbag DID deploy, you'd have the emblem in your forehead! I guess it is a good thing that the emblem looks good as a mirror image - at least you wouldn't have "FORD" backwards!!!!

Thats pretty creative.

Though I would be concerned about the effect it will have on if/when the airbag is ever deployed.

Speaking of steering wheels and all.. I was in an accident with my Acura in May and have not been able to get the driver side airbag or the passenger side one for that matter. Are there any after market ones I can buy? And what about just a regular plate for the passenger side eliminating the airbag ? Not a good idea I know, but I am not ready to have 2 of them blow up in my face anytime soon again.

It is illegal to take the airbag(s) out of an airbag equipped car.
There is no aftermarket airbags... only made by Honda. They can be found used on ebay or new at www.acuraautomotiveparts.net.
