Stalled Engine

I posted a thread earlier this week about my starter going out. Well today i had a shock of my life. I'm driving on the freeway and my car dies. I pull over and put it in park and start it back up. Does this have to do with starter? Could something major be going on? Aghhhh! Suggestions please.

Vapor lock?
Ignition coil?
Dunno, strange it died on freeway while moving, you pull over, it starts back up and off you go. You either lost a spark or gas, but I'm no mechanic.

I'm no mechanic either but was it trying to go when it stalled... IE: bucking, almost like you were hitting the gas- then coming off, hitting the gas... etc...?? If it was doing that, i'd go with a fuel problem... But maybe that's why i go to my mechanic friends when i have a prob... hehe...

If it started right back up, your starter is good. Hope you figure it out.

Well I had my car die while I was driving down the road one day, but it was alternator that died. I'm going down the highway about 90 and my lights start to dim. I thought it was my CAP went out and my amps were pullin' too much current. Then it was like something out of an Energizer commercial... everything just drained! Good thing I slowed down cause the power steering went out cause the car went completely dead!

There's so many different possibilities on this one that I hope you're still under warranty. It could be as simple as an ignition coil. Or it could be complicated. One thing I'll tell you though, it's definitely NOT your starter. Sounds like something ignition system related, but don't take any chances. You don't want to merge onto a highway in front of a tractor trailor and have your engine die.

Same thing happened to me the other day...i was driving about 25-30 mph, and i threw in the clutch to make a turn, and it just died on me. I got freaked out too because i almost got hit (I was turning left). Anyways, hopefully someone's got an answer!!

Well....I don't know if you guys & girls know that ignition is one of the things that our cars are not that good....Acura sent me a letter saying that there is something wrong with our ignition system and that when ever I wanted, I could take it to the dealer and they would check it and fix what ever they said is wrong with it for free ( I don't remember what I did with the letter so, I don't remember what was wrong with our ignition) I think you should go and mention that to them and find out. If Im not remembering wrong, even if there is nothing wrong with it, they would still replace what they said on the letter....its worth the try...I completely forgot about it....I think I should do that sometime soon.....
