Also, skinnier springs go on the front and fatter ones on the back with the compressed looking part of the rear on the bottom, right?

Be careful about removing your stock springs, they are very compressed, also you may want a spring compressor to put your springs on your struts. Here's what happened to one of our OG members, Dustbuster when he was puttin springs on

No, you only need one compressor, as long as you do it one at a time, i was just warning you about compressing and decompressing springs

one?! no you gonna need 2 to balance it out. else you gonna end up like dusty up there. you want it fast and easy...take ur whole shock and spring out in one piece. take it to a shop that have a wall spring compressor. have them take the spring out and put ur new one in. got all 4 of mine done for $50 in 15min. go home and install it. done. i did all 4 wheels in less than 2 hours.

You have to get a strut spring compressor otherwise it won't fit. I just laid it on it's side in the grass and started unscrewing, then shot the stuff in a box.

^ are you serious? back in HS, i was helping one of my friend put in set of lowering springs for his Ford Probe. We thought we compress it enought so we start taking off the top bolt. that cap shot up in the air so high it was scary.

another trick i have to lowing your car. i would place a floor jack under the wheel hub...jack it up, then unbolt the nut on top while the schock is still in place. then lower the jack slowly and remove it like that. put in the new springs, have a big buddy press the cap on while you put the nut back on. once the nut is on, all you have to do is tighten it and put it back on the car. done.

i would take the shock and spring in one piece to a shop and have them remove it, if you never done this before.

oh and be sure to be prepared for some rusted bolts in the rear, you'll need plenty of wd-40, liquid wrench, and a propane torch if they're bad like a lot of ours were.

The compressed side should go up top, not bottom.

The longer springs go in back and the short (in length and diameter) ones go in front.

usually the lower bolts and nut will be the one that get rusted due to the salt and snow you guys get there.

Find a big fat mofo and have him stand on the spring, have someone else slide the shock in and bolt it, have a third big guy to hold the fat mofo down so he doesn't launch into existence
