Spoiler w/ Brake Lamp

Hey guys, i'm back to the CL. About a few years ago i had a '99 3.0 CL and i traded it in on the new 3.2 CL-S. Make a long story short, i now have an 05 RL and just brought a '99 2.3CL as a kick around car for during the week. I just wanted something for a good deal and mainly for the 4-cylinder engine w/ the way gas prices are STILL ON THE RISE!!!!

So onto my question, i really like the spoiler w/ this car. I was wondering where is a good place i could get the spoiler from at a cheaper price already painted in the appropriate color? I called my local Acura yesterday and they were saying it would be like $499 There's gotta be a cheaper way! If you would, please let me know.

Thanks,

Thx hybridnrg! I just went on ebay and saw a couple spoilers. How do i determine which one to choose? And also, is it best to go ahead and purchase it w/ it already being painted or get that done after i receive it? Seeing what will be the best/logical way to go about this. As far as installing it, could i take it to an auto body shop and have them do it, or take it to Acura? Kind of new to this, so your help is appreciated.

Thanks,

i bought mine already painted and it matched perfect you just gota match up the color code on the inside of your door jam
if your paint isnt too good, you might want to buy the spoiler unpainted and then have it color matched

I saw this on ebay and its prepainted and you may not need to get the sprink kit since its lighter than the stock.

autobody shop. take it to someone you know, or in this case ask around to see who does good jobs.

Thanks for the link... This is actually the one i was looking at and looking to purchase. Now when you mention the sprink kit, is this something that they'll provide also, or would i need to pay for that when i take it to the autobody shop? So speaking of any good places, does anyone know of any good autobody shops in NC (Raleigh/Durham) area?

The spring kit is available from your Acura dealer and cost about $41. I just ordered mine last week. If you put it in yourself it may take up to 3 hours to do it. Or you could pay the dealer for 1 hour labor. They have a special tool that makes it easier for them to take the springs out. That's what I'm going to do.

The particular link I gave advertises that its so light that it works fine with the stock springs.

When I got my CL the lid wouldn't stay up if I was on slight incline. I was going to take it to the dealer to have it looked at but never had the time to do it. After almost five years I found a post, here on Acurazine, that mentioned the springs and I asked about it. Sure enough when I went down to dealer they confirmed it.

If I was to buy a wing today it would probably be that one if I didn't get one from the dealer. I haven't had any experience buying from that seller so I really don't have to base my response on. Anybody?

The installation of the spring kit was $43.00 and I got in and out in less than an hour.
