spoiler paint cost
i guess you could figure out my intent by the title of this thread, but i was wondering how much factory paint matching is on the spoiler (factory style). i've seen a couple spoilers going for not too much bread but i was wondering how much it costs to put the factory paint on (black for mine). Thanks

I've got a paint ding on my factory spoiler, and I checked with the local Acura body shop about repainting it (the chip is too severe to buff out). They told me it would be about $300, so I decided to use touch-up paint and live with it for now. I realize that's not an option for you if the color-match is bad when you get it, but it is not cheap to do a quality multi-layer paint/bake job.

i beg to differ. i'll post pictures when i get a chance. the spoiler matches the color perfectly. im very satified with the quality. the dealer charges too much IMO

I'd be willing to bet there are at least thirty shades of black for car paints out there...
And in any event, it's not just the color matching, but the multilayer paint/clearcoat and baking process that takes time, skill, and therefore money. There's no guarantee that a $70 paint job is going to suck, and if you get a good one then I'm happy you saved some cash. I just think that a reputable shop that charges more normal rates is probably going to have a higher probability of doing a good job.

hell yea theres alot of different shades of black. A couple of months ago I got hit on my driver door and when they repainted it was alot more glossy and better looking than my oem paint. I had to take it back, get them to repaint the door a better shade and then blend it in with the front and back quarter panels. Pain in tha ass.
