Ummm, no. You will not get detonation from running a higher octane. Running a higher octane fuel in a car will almost never hurt it. In the cl, better fuel will not help. But in a car with higher compression, or forced induction its definitely a plus.

yup, thats why higher octane gas is used at the track, it has a longer burn once ignited, esp. on FI cars, you can crank the psi up a little at the track with the good stuff

its not a recall, its a waranty extension. theres a scanned copy of it on the board somewhere.
the catlyst breaks down if all the gasses arent burned before it goes thru the exhaust. ur current cat could last 6 months, or it could last 2 minutes. ur best bet is to have it replaced.
