Why are you using 91? You do realize the octane ratings tell you how fast it burns right? 91 isn't any cleaner or doesn't have any more detergents than a lower octane. You must ignore the marketing BS. You also can lose a good deal of power as your engine is retarding the timing to compensate for the fact the 91 is igniting too fast (e.g. detonation).

Ummm, no. You will not get detonation from running a higher octane. Running a higher octane fuel in a car will almost never hurt it. In the cl, better fuel will not help. But in a car with higher compression, or forced induction its definitely a plus.

what he said, and the higher the octane the harder it is to ignite it. If you have detonation, you need to run higher octane.

yup, thats why higher octane gas is used at the track, it has a longer burn once ignited, esp. on FI cars, you can crank the psi up a little at the track with the good stuff

its not a recall, its a waranty extension. theres a scanned copy of it on the board somewhere.

the catlyst breaks down if all the gasses arent burned before it goes thru the exhaust. ur current cat could last 6 months, or it could last 2 minutes. ur best bet is to have it replaced.
