speaker possibly dead??
OK, my passenger side door speaker never worked since I got the car. I figured that it was never hooked up correctly after I got repainted, so I finally decided to check it out today. I took off the door panel and took the speaker out and it was hooked up fine.
I hooked up a voltmeter to test to see if any voltage was coming from the wire. I would getting a reading of maybe .13 V with music playing (balance was shifted all the way to the passenger side). So my first question: Is this a normal voltage reading?
I need to be completely sure it's the speaker that's blown, as I want to get some replacement speakers but don't want to really replace the HU or have to get an amp or run new wires etc. (I currently have a non bose stock setup.)
Is there any way to get some decent replacement speakers swapped in and have everything work? I know that our cars come with component, if I replace just the door speakers will everything still work, or will I have to get crossover crap etc?
I'm still going thru search results but any insights will be really helpful thanks
