spacers for aftermarket rims?

Does anybody know how to figure out if one needs these?

The deal: I recently put a set of mille miglia action 17's on my 98 CL (w/no spacers). Since that, there has been some vibration throughout the car/steering column, getting noticeable up through highway speeds.

From searching posts, looks like no spacers could be the problem (or alignment and balancing, right?) and since I bought them used, I don't know If I need them. so,
1) anybody know if I need them/how to find out if I need them; and
2) where could I get them"
thanks alot,
matt

I would just get them balanced first since they were used before you spend money on something else.

I don't remember anyone on here ever mentioning they needed spacers to solve that problem.....btw, my last set of rims were 17" Mille Miglia Spiders and they rode great with the Kumhos they were mounted on.

spacers are ONLY needed when you buy rims with a multi hole pattern.. not a staright 4 lug...

straight 4s use the lugs as a centering blance...

multi hole do not and hence need a spacer to help balance and center it!!!

Thanks guys.
4 hole pattern=my rims=no spacers. cool.
You think then I should take them in to get them balanced? I can see that they already have the little weights on each rim, indicating they were balanced in the (recent) past.
any other suggestions, if that doesn't work?
I will post further developments

spacers? Do you mean hub centering rings? If its not an alignment or balancing issue, those will help reduce vibration at high speeds

Who sells these anyway?

I have a little vibration and may look into getting a set since I have the 8 hole universal lug pattern with my new rims.

My last set came with them, but when I sold the rims they went with them.

Ask the place where you got the rims. I needed them for mine and they didn't send them with the wheels. So I had to call the store I got my wheels and they sent the rings to me.

will the hub centering rings do anything at to reduce vibrations at lower speeds, e.g. 10-40 mph?
