i know this has discussed one too many times, i've been reading of the past posts... and alot of them said that the venom 400 works much better on an automatic tranny than a manual one. is that true? is this the best mod (most hp) that i can get for around 300 bucks? going to the track in a week, so i need some extra juice. by the way, i just beat a hybrid 95 accord coupe with a h22a engine in it. he still has his accord tranny in it, and says that's why he lost. oh well, at least i beat someone! it's a rare occasion... my motto, "it's all about the driver" hehehe

I don't have any experience with the Venom 400 on a 5-speed, but I definitely feel a difference in my 3.0!

I will run my car at Capital Raceway Friday night. If I have enough time, I will run with the Venom off (at least once), to compare. I'll post my results Friday night/Saturday morning.

I haven't driven enough today to notice. The new tires/rims only weight about 3 lbs. more than the OEM tires/wheels (12 lbs. total). I'm sure I'm a bit slower, but I'll compensate for it next week!

I've never run at the track. My previous times come from the GTech. My last run was a 15.6 with a passenger (plus me = 410 lbs. -plus- 35 lbs. of stereo equipment), Venom 400 and short ram intake only.

 

Check that. My time was a 15.49. And it was dajuice27 that was with me. Also, I had about 1/2 tank of gas.

 

tite! i'm just hoping to get into the 15s range. just ordered the venom 400 a couple minutes ago. i'm pretty excited. i hope it'll arrive by thursday tho, so that i'll give me a day to install it before running at the track. how long did it take to get yours? is it hard to install? do you need any extra materials, or does it come with everything needed? i'm a dummy when it comes to these things... but i'm very willing to learn!

 

I got mine off of eBay through an auction from www.customrim.com. It's been a year ago that I got it (it was my first mod), I don't remember how long it took to ship. It comes complete with everything you need. The directions are pretty straight forward. I think it took less than an hour (and that was taking it nice, and slow)!

Most of the people who didn't like the venom had manual trannys. I got my Venom about 2 1/2 years ago when the only people who had them were Civics and Integras. All with autos loved the Venom. All with manuals said that the venom didn't go anything. I don't think there is anyone on the board that has a manual tranny and the venom. Most manual owners are running the VAFC.
