Ok so i was driving today out to my uncles lake house for easter family stuff. Driving down the highway at about 60 passed some cars in the passing zone, got back in my lane and was still accelerating up the hill, when my car hit 6000 rpms the rpms droped about 300 - 400 then picked back up, just like if i let off the gas a little then got back in to it, weird i thought but i was not really payin attention and thought it might of been the hill, the same thing happened to me with the next set of cars i passed but on flat ground,

its not a big problem(yet) and i have no clue at to a cause.
it happens at 6000 rpms in third gear (i guess) at about 90 mph
i have a 97 2.2 auto

anyone have a idea???

 

i think it's b/c the transmission dropped down a gear to climb up the hill especially at 6k.

 

Its your Venom 400. It used to happen with me when I had it on during daily driving...Cept mine would just drop a gear and take off.

 

Could it be a rev limiter kicking in?

nope nope and nope

venom was turned off
i the car had already droped down a gear
it happens when going from 50-100 mph at full throttle
(how else can out 2.X's hit 100)
the rev limiter wouldent be the cause because it drops a rew rpms then climbs back up past 6000 and right to the red line on the tac

 

I have had something like this happen before, i had a couple people in my car and when i was accalerating at wot it was like i took my foor off the gas, the car was actually slowing down.
