SoCal 30K Service, Where to do it?
Sup guys, I know I have asked about La area dealers before but I'm getting due for my 30K service. I've been calling around and places are charging anywhere from $249 to $480 for the 30K service. I cant imagine they all do different things for the service. So my question is which is the best place to go? Santa Monica Acura where I bought the is saying $430-$480 pending sparkplugs, Keyes Acura (where Ive gone before) says $249, but of course no loaner car. I know there is 101 and 1 or 2 other places, but this huge difference in pricing is annoying and confusing.
Any help on advice is most welcome, thanks.

Well here's the thing...It really depends on what they need to fix and replace. Every dealer does the same checks, it's just that some of those checks you don't really need them to do. You can ask for them to give you a check list of what they are doing in this specific service....or I think it's listed in the service thing that came with the manual. You can ask them not to do certain things...like rotate tires, check windshield wipers..etc

Well i had two of them fax me their check lists, they are pretty much identical so why one is so much more expensive then the other i have no clue. I just want to know who you so cal guys are loyal to and would choose, knowing there are such extreme price differences.

These interval checks are a joke!
They include oil change - $20
Rotate tires - $20-30
Top off all fluids - $0 cause nothing will have been used up(brake, power steering, coolant, etc.)
All you're paying for is 2-3 hour of labor and $20 in parts(oil filter, 6qt of Honda oil).
Unless you really really want the dealer stamp for your owner's manual maintenance record, I'd do it myself or take it to a Honda specialist.
When I went in to get my factory thermostat for my Integ, I saw an invoice laying around for one oil change, tire rotation, and fluid check for a total of $131!!!!

I thought at the 30K service they were supposed to adjust valves and a few other things. Only reason im most likely taking it to a dealer is because im still underwarranty with the car. So if anythingshould happeni can say hey you guys worked on it. After warranty goes, it gets all work thereafter done by my mechanic.

try Pasadena, i use to use them all the time when i lived out there. Great service, honest work. May be pricey though.

Anyway, thanks to those of you who replied.
Sucks i just spent 850 in body work, now 330 for service, and very very soon another 400 for new tires. sigh...cars...

Besides, as mentioned if the car should need warranty i always have saying i had my services and they were dealer done as a back up if i need to pull that card out. sometimes even helps post warranty. but by then my personal mechanic will be watching over my baby.

Jiffy Lube. Make sure they put in the right oil though, 5-20 in a 2002 CL. Don't pay over $25. Change your air filter yourself. Save your money for gas. Check your maintenance schedule and keep the receipts, they will be enough to justify your warranty.

I'm not really sure if the 30K maintenace requires valve adjustment. It may for the 2.3. I'd double check what those prices include. You should not require spark plugs...especially at 30K. If you need new plugs this early...something's wrong, or they're trying to upsell you.
