So it's a direct drop in huh?

Yea, picked up the f23 engine and went to drop it into the car and yea, its definitely not a direct drop in, the vacuum lines are in different spots along with some other things. So whoever told me its direct, please tell me EXACTLY what you had to do to hook up lines to make it work b/c as of right now, it isn't looking good. And I need to know this shit soon because I need the car out of the shop by next weekend. Thanks

So what exactly doesn't line up? For the vacuum lines, you can buy longer ones.

there are some sensors that dont have matching numbers, there's a line going from the intake to the head that isn't even present on the f22, issues like that. My brother and the guy who's doing the swap says they pretty much figured out where everything goes but if the guys who told me its a direct drop in could tell me what else they had to do to make it work that would be good because that wasnt expressed to me when I asked about this swap

I just have to know because she made such a big deal about putting in a turbo and making 250whp, so did she her old engine? or did she just give up and going for an engine that gives her 5 more horsepower haha.

The f22b1 is a good engine to turbocharge, it would have given her alot more than 5hp

You dont know my money situation or why I had to give up on that dream so please shut your mouth cause your really starting to tick me off. I have half of the turbo parts sitting here and now I cant do it so trust me, I'm more upset than you know. Not only can I not do the turbo, but I have to sell the car as well which is also very upsetting.

I have to drop in the new engine because the last guy who owned the car failed to tell me that when he fixed the timing belt, he failed to change the $30 water pump which obviously went bad, made the timing belt skip a couple teeth, and we all know with your interference motor jumping teeth means roasted.

I got the f23 from a 98 or 99 accord, not the one with ULEV

Mine is the f23a1 and it looks like they didn't have to modify anything to make it fit at all seeing as it is the motor that comes stock in the 98/99 2.3CL but if you have an f23a4 or f23a5, that could be a different story... the code is stamped on the block towards the left side right beside the tranny...

So why you selling the car? It is cheap you wont find anything else as cheap and as reliable as one that your putting a new engine in. Sorry the turbo thing didnt work out I was hoping that you would get the turbo on and show all the guys up on this forum. Also what are you thinking about replacing your car with? and are you gonna have any turbo parts up for sale? Good luck with everything.

I won't be buying another car, I'm just going to be driving my moms car for a while, maybe get another car next summer. My dad's going to be buying a beater truck so I might drive that, who knows.

it might not look like they did any modifying because this is stuff that you really need to know is there to notice but now we're running into tons of problems because of it.

if you swapped in a non-vtec f23 that could be why you're having so many problems...

At least you're putting in a new motor, I know mine's going to go soon so you're already a step ahead of me. Props for a swap. Screw the guys bitching about the turbo, things happen and they'll get over it. Sorry you have to get rid of the car, though. I more or less want to get rid of mine because of the problems it's giving me and the time it's taking up. Good luck figuring out the swap, I'd like to help but I have NO idea.

I'm sure some stuff is slightly different, I know the engine bays for an accord and CL are different so it would make sense that things don't line up perfectly. what other problems are you having with the fitment?

well I'm not doing the swap, this friend of my brothers is who's done many swaps so he's figured out the problems, when i get both engines back (1 in car and one out of car lol) I'll take some pics and show you guys what I'm talking about. It's not that they are slightly off, some hoses are on opposite sides of the intake mani and a couple sensors also but I guess he's just switching intake mani's and that will solve all the issues.
