So.....

For a few weeks now, as soon as I hit 90,000 miles ironically, the car starts acting crazy. I hear this clicking noise from my glove box area and then the radio and hte clock reset, I have to set the time again and then set up my radio all over again. ALso, when it does this, my tach and speedo jump down to 0 and then back to where they were again. The car doesnt lose power, it still drives and then my ABS light pops on and I hear a hissing noise. Yesterday when this happened, I shut the car off, then tried to restart and I got nothing. The key just turned and I got no noise, no engine trying to start, no nothin, just totally dead. Gave it a few minutes and tried again and it started right up no problem. So I dropped it off at my mechanic and he checked the alternator and the grounds and said they were good. The battery is only a month old, so it cant be that. Any ideas? What else should they look for. He wants me to drop it off again tomorow so he can spend more time with it. Its a 97 2.2 by the way and all i have done is cai and header. Im clueless.

Tell me about it. I walk around saying my Honda will last forever and meanwhile its gonna start falling apart now. Weird thing is that it doesnt do it everyday, only when it feels like it I guess. May be time to start thinking about getting rid of her.

Check your battery connections, their may be buildup, and it not connecting correctly, and not producing a charge. I would take it to sears, or wherever you replaced your battery, and have them check it.
