smashed up the CL !!

head on with another car ... dont really wanna talk about the accident but both bags went off took it pretty much in the face no injuries to either driver except a few burns and bruises

i have a couple questions ... if its totaled (which im still debating on if i want it to be or not)

1. how do i get my stuff out ex.. headers, CAI, springs/shocks??? its at the shop now so how do i go about getting them out

2. do u think it will be totaled?? kbb.com has it at 8,500 i think and nada.com around 7,900

can get more pics when i get home i just dont know realy what to do about all the mods in it....

When my friend destroyed his SC 400, the ins. company gave him a couple of days to remove all belongings from the vehicle. I would bring a buddy or two and take everything off and give me a discount on parts.

1: I would say there is a 90 percent chance your car is done for. I had a similiar incident and the total was 6200. They will total out your car is the damage exceeds 60 percent of the value of the car, but that differs between insurence companies. I just hope to god you dont have mercury casuality because that is who i have and it took them 6 MONTHS to cut a check for my car.

In the end it really does not matter about the condition of the car, just that you are ok and no one was seriously injured. With that said i hope it was not your fault and if they pin it on you get a lawyer.

With all that said: dibs on lip

ps: yes, you need to talk to the shop or you wont get your parts off the car. Your other option is to buy your car back from the insurence company after they total it out. You can probably buy your car back for under 1k. My friend totaled his 02 civic si and bought it back for 400 dollars. He than sold all his aftermarket parts, engine, tranny, interior and so on and got over 2500 for it all. Just a thought.

Buying back the car is a must, espeically if you plan on parting it out. You can make up all the money you'll loose on what the insurance company will give you.

From the pciture though, it doesn't look too bad. It shouldn't be totaled from what I can see. It'll depend on any frame damage.

honestly, i'd just go talk to the guys at the shop and explain to em that youve got stuff on the car you want off... aslong as you can put the stock shit back (i.e. the suspension) they wont care.... especially if its stuff you added on.... the wing might be a diff story.... but go talk to em... and fo sho get your stuff out! and ya, the lip looks to be fine... i'd rip that off fo sho and sell it to someone on here... like WILLP! ( a lil free adv. for a buddy!)

It's really too bad to see stuff like that happen, expecially when it's the exact same car as the one I got (black 97 2.2). If it comes down to it, I'm sure you could get rid of all the aftermarket stuff just to people on this site alone. I hope you're car isn't totaled.

probably some frame damage... from a head on...

glad ur safe.

sometimes the insurance company does not let you take stuff off the car you best hurry ur ass up before they come take a good look at it. probably it is a wreck and they will cut you the check.

good luck with that stuff.... if you can get the interior out of the car then ill buy it from you.

Nah, it push in my radiator support...messed up both the fans and radiator...broke both the headlight tab, grill and fucked the hood.....so i replaced the 2 fans, radiator....pull the radiator support out straight the hood....headlights was still held in place but i still looking for a pair to replace it...rightnow from far away u cant even tell its messed up....but u start seeing wave on the hood when u get up close...i'm just waiting for tax return next year and get the CF hood and repaint it all at once.

yup....i just use those ratcheting tie downs strap with the hook. hooked one side to the raditor support the other side to a pole and ratchet it till it come out where it suppost to. same with the hood but keep the other end lower. then use a hammer and beat it the frame to get it perfect. hood gonna be harder....but just take ur time with it...get a small piece of 2x4 and put it under the hood then put pressure from the top to bend the hood right.....dont beat the hood too hard u might break ur windshield.

good luck! it was my first time doing it and it came out pretty good.
