Is this smart

ive decieded that im gonna probaly buy Tanabe SUSTEC springs for my car. BUT i cant afford a set of aftermarket struts. my car has 115K and i dont know how long the stock shocks will hold up with lowering springs. are any of you guys running with aftermarket springs but stock shocks???

You're going to get the springs, pay money (or spend awhile to install 'em yourself) to install and your shocks will blow in a few months.

Then you're going to be stuck with blown shocks and a shitty ride until you're forced to buy strust and replace again (another installation).

Just do it all together the first time and save yourself the headache.

good point, maybe i can pick up some cheap shocks like koni's or tokico off ebay. im trying to get up a link for them but the website isnt working right now. the springs are Tanabe SUSTEC DF210 at a really good price from overboost.com.

Most likely you're gonna blow them in no time, i'd get coils or at least save up and get the shocks b4 puttin them on, it'll be worth it

Save yourself some time and labor and get aftermarket shocks, the stock shocks will definately leak after a couple of months. I have tried installing aftermarket springs with stock shocks and a couple of months later they start leaking black hydralic oil all over the shocks.
