skunk smell follow up
When I told you all about the skunk smell you suggested that I have condensation in my hoses. Which hoses were you all referring to. I created a new post because I didn't want to bring that one back and have no one read this question.

The hose in question runs from the condensor box behind the glovebox, through the firewall and down to the under side of the car. Don't confuse it with the vacume condensation drain wich is on the driver side near the midline of the car at the firewall.
Hope I've helped you bro. I'd be going nuts.

I don't smell it in the hose in question. I've got a new location though. In the engine compartment on the drivers side on the side of the engine itself right next to the oil pour in spot. There is a little black cover behind the power steering belt. On the engine itself, mind you. All the smell is comin from there.

I believe that's an engine mount, but I'm not really sure.
Could be something stuck up there after all. I'm taking it in to get looked at tomorrow.
There's also a pinging in my exhaust so I'm taking that to get looked at also.

Follow up^2
I cleaned out the engine bay and the smell still didn't really go away. It's disappearing slowly, I can't smell it in my AC anymore.
I guess it could've been just a nasty ass dead animal stuck in my engine. Probably frying between the engine mount (that's where the smell was).
Hope I didn't breathe in like dead rat poison.

lol this thread gives me fits of laughter. I bet a snake or lizard is curled up in there somewhere, and we all know that reptiles don't emit as many poisionous gasses so you should be safe.

Okay... so I thought I'd follow up with my final diagnosis.
I seriously believe that the car wash soap that I use is causing the smell! The stuff smells great but when it gets diluted with warm air it smells like skunk! When I stopped washing my car the smell basically went away... I wash it again, and the smell comes back nice and strong.
Could be a coincidence... but I'm gonna start using a different soap.
This whole thing is

It's some concentrated stuff, 3:1--that's all I remember.

Skunk soap...
I hit some road kill once that stuck with my car for two weeks.... Even with wash... It smelled like burned dog food or something. It was a bloated cat on the road that I hit.

Believe it or not it's actually armor all concentrate (3:1 mixture)
It's that blue stuff you buy in a plastic bottle. I'm starting to think more and more that it's the cause because it was sunny here yesterday and I was out washing my moms car and my car (with different soap...) and under the sun it smelled like skunk all over the car. My guess is that the reason it smelled like that under the hood was because some of the soap seeped down into the engine... I don't know
It sounds kind of far fetched but it's the best I've got.
