Lightbulb Silverstar Break lights!

I don't know if any of you are aware, but there are 1157 Silverstar brake lights! I know the correct bulb for our break lights are 2057 but 1157 looks the exact same and even the guy at Auto Zone said it should work. I also have 162 (something like that) for my front right corner bulb and 194 for my left corner bulb and they both work perfectly. Shouldn't it be the same with 2057 vs. 1157?

I know your going to ask why so I'll just tell you straight up, I'm getting rockblocker.

edit: Yes, I know is misspelled "brake" lights on the thread topic... Can some mod please edit?

No, it's too funny

Yes I knew they had silverstar 1157's, didn't know they had wedge bulbs though, I still prefer LED's. Can't wait to see the rockblocker did you go with the 20%?

^how about a compromise? Change "break" to "brake" and then change "light" to "lite", just so he stops complaining bout spelling brake wrong

(not silverstars, just making a point that you can use other bulbs then the recomended) So would it be the same with 2057 vs. 1157?

I know your going to ask why so I'll just tell you straight up, I'm getting rockblocker. Depends on how much brighter the silverstars are. I want the darkest one but if I ever get rear ended, I'm sure they will fight the case and make it my fault because of the illegal taillight tint... Either way I'm getting rockblocker just not sure how dark I'm gonna go. Painting the rear (A) emblem too. Got another something something going on too.

from what i have been told by someone i work with, the higher in number the more output. For instance for some dudes buick it took 3157 and we were out so we went down to 3057 and it worked well. SO i would imagine as long as your going down in numbers your safe. and since they are silverstars they should be pretty bright.

oh and screw Autozone, Advance Auto is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better
trust me i kno

So I got the 1157 Silverstar brake light bulbs, did some recearch, and found out that Swiffty here is right...
The higher the number, the brighter the bulb. Right now I found out the previous owner had 3095 and 3057 for the brake and taillight bulbs and their both brighter than the 1157 Silverstars... I'm gonna try and trade them for some 3057 Silverstars.. We'll see how that gose.

BTW, this is a O'Riley or however you spell it. And on the Advanced Auto > Auto Zone. My bro worked at Advanced Auto.
