Hi All,

As you may or may not have noticed from my recent postings, I am seriously considering getting a CAI, but like most, I want to spend as little money as possible. Anyway, so the other day, I found a used CAI w/bypass (a feature I want for peace of mind), on ebay. The guy who is selling it says he was in an accident and it was slightly damaged... When I asked him for more specs he said:

"There are a few scratches on the intake and one dent,
the accident only damaged the filter, which is
slightly dented, i have included some more pictures of
the intake for you to look at. there are no cracks"

So what do you think? It is $81 I can probably get it for $100 or less... Any thoughts on this?

i dont think you should because you never now on ebay. I would ask around a little more and you could still pay like 150 but think about it its brand new. Its better than it being defective and then having to buy a new one

You'll need to replace the filter, which will cost extra. The dents and scratches will only look bad but thats up to you whether you care or not. As long as there are no holes or any areas that may leak, it should be fine.

A23CL I think you're right... I will probably just wait until the AEM V2 comes out and just buy that one brand new... you're right, I've been screwed a couple of times before on ebay.

Yeah good idea, hold off.... The charger kit for that filters gonna cost you a couple bucks.... so the money you think your saving is really just going back into the CAI...

on ebay, i bought a CAI from a company called COSMO RACING...$100 for a brand new one...works great!!

Just a side question....does a CAI matter that much in the winter? (if you live in the cooler climate areas)

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THAT CRAP

you dont want second hand and for all you know that filter looks like shit. you need to replace the filter and then buy the recharger kit from k and n. it will run you about 10 bucks its not wortht he money. check out groupbuycenter.com for cais that will be new and you know where you are getting it from and IT IS NEW NOT USED

sorry i hate used materials but when it comes to the engine i only buy new parts or parts that have been on the car less than 6 months
