Shim kit...

Anyone have any problems with their shim kit touching the rotor? Mine touches...the guys at the tire place said I should probably fix it or it might make some noises. But I haven't noticed anything wrong so far. Acura installed my brake pads, so could they have messed up the shim kit during the install? Thanx ahead.

Mine (in the rear) have always touched the rotor (on the driver's side). I just got used to the sound.

No damage done, just a louder than usual braking sound.

I'm putting in new rotors and pads next week, and I'll make sure to correct this problem.

Will it do anything else besides make noise? Like will it damage the rotor? I'm all about not fixing it if its not broke or annoying me. :P

I didn't see any damage the last time I looked. I'll look again in the AM . . . wait . . . it is the AM--what the fuck are we still up for????????

Anyway, I'll check when I get up and post if there's any damage.

Time to sleep!

I see no damage at all. I even have the Zinc-plated rotors, and there's no damage to be seen.

The metal tab in front of the brake pads when you look in. Its between the brake pads and calipers.
