It could easily be a carier bearing failure. First gear puts a lot of torgue against the stationary car. When you go to pull away, how does the clutch feel? Is it mushy and to the floor or is it firm. Another problem could be a cracked clutch booster float. Check to see if there is fluid on top of the cyclinder in the clutch resivore. If not this check the clutch plates. Unless you put the wrong fluid in this transmission, you would really have to torcher it to kill it. Were as clutches fail... with common regularity for several reasons.

Anyway good luck, hope I helped.

well it feels like your burning out in slow motion without any tire scraching on the pavement or that screaching sound when your burning out. i took my car to an old time family friend at a 76 gas station to get the full 54,000 mile check up. so i really dont know whats in my car....... whats the name of the fat book that explains every little detail of our car?

knowing how would be a good thing, and could be a big problem solver and a helper. pushing the clutch all the way to the floor? try granny shifting or reving ur engine to match ur RPMS while u shift into 3rd. i think from 5th to 3rd is a lil to high... i did that on my h22 a couple of times... and im at like 6.5 ish.... i think going to 4th would be good enough.

The real book is the Helms Manual. Chilton and Haynes are the..let's say, Cliff's Notes of Helms.

Yes, driving a stick is definately a lesson in finness... Either you have it, or you don't, I think you can show someone, but they have to get the feel of it... Some people just don't "get it."

Anyway, work your way down the gears, don't skip them unless you have to under breaking. 5th to 3rd would be only really if you were trying to spool up to race, or well, just go down the tree without skipping a branch.

Oh, I still think it is your clutch, not your tranny... and for RMH3093, I don't think a manual has synchros... though I suppose I could be wrong.

try putting thicker gear oil in the tranny to slow down the syncromesh alittle faster.. try 80w90 or 80w120.
