Shift Knob Question for Ridin Low or Anyone

You unscrew it. I took my whole center console out so I could remove that square piece that fits on the bottom of the shift knob. I got a momo knob. But to remove the knob you just unscrew it.

The replacement does not have any threads for screwing (HEHEHEHEHE).
Is there any pics of the procedure. It seems strange to me that I would have to take of the console. The shift boot only clips on to the shifter.
