shift knob question

i got a new shift knob very similar to my old black PSPEC knob..its a honda oem integra type r knob

the knob screws on but when u try to tighten it up the farthest ive gotten it...the 1 2 3 4 5 R is facing the passenger side and its at an angle

i want it either facing me or straight...i cant tighten it any more to make it that way and when i loosen it and go around the other way..its too loose and it moves

so is there any way to fix this like make the threads longer or anything...any ideas will be appreciated

Put a small pieces of metal in the hole of the knob. That way it wont screw all the way down the threads.

yea, bunch something up inside the knob or go to honda/acura and get an adjustment nut.

thats the thing with the pspec knob. There was a hex key you did something with behind the knob after you had it set where you wanted it. Otherwise, the thing would be off like you just said.
