Shift Knob Boot

Has anyone replaced their shift knob boot. What is the easiest way to do it. I looked at the OEM one and noticed that the bottem of it is cut to fit the bracket. The boot that i ordered has elastic on the bottom of it. So i am thinking i am gonna have to cut the elastic off to match it to the OEM one. Any help? Thanks a lot.

hey, i bought a momo leather boot, and it had elastic on the bottom, my neighbor however is a woodworker, and also had leather tools, somehow, he took the plastic ring which the OEM boot is stapled to, and sewed the new boot on to it with his wood-working kit, its awesome, and definitely much more durable than the OEM.

I used the stock one as a template and cut a Momo boot to fit. Worked quite well. To attach it i used hot glue and the stock bracket.
