Shift kits, converters anything for 2.3cl auto trans?

Hey guys, I have a 99 2.3cl.

I dispise the factory automatic transmission. Soft mushy crappy shifts. I really don't mind having an auto but would like a firmer shift.

After searching it does not seem that there is any good way to do this. Any thoughts?

Thanks - Evan

BTW, car has 98,500 miles on it. I wonder how long till the trans takes a dump!

What you can get is a tourque converter your going to have to get custom made from an accord. I have that and it was pricy.the company I deal with for my auto it's called redline tranny in new jersey these guys will make anything but be prepared to drop some money. I tried transforming to manual pretty impossible these acura's have chips that run from the tranny to the engine you would need a whole new set up, we tried. Unless some1 has a way to bypass all that and throw the manual tranny in.

any way to at least convert the auto to Acura's "Sequential SportShift"?
seems it would be simpler than going manual?

Just out of curiosity, what is that prevents the Manula swap? Me and a friend swapped an auto to a manual, granted it was a 93 Eagle Talon/Plymouth Laser.
Is it the ECU?

alot of people did the f22 auto to h22 manual swap, i would imagine just getting the ecu from a manual 2.2 or 2.3 would do the trick.
but i thought all that happens is the D light blinks the whole time if you do swap with same ecu.......

and you might as well gate shift instead of the "sport shift" i see that alot of second gen prefers to gate shift over the sport shift.

yah but when you do the h22 swap, you usually get the ECU in the price of the package. If you were gonna do the f22 auto to manual swap, ideally you'd just need the transmission, pedals and shifter assembly, clutch cylinder. An ECU itself can be pretty expensive, my friend looked into one before we did the swap; used, no warranty ones go for 150+ and new from the dealer are 1500 or so.

If your transmission shifts mushy you could always beat on yours like I did when I first got my car.... My transmission shifts really hard now, kind of like a pop. I regret beating the sh*t out of my transmission when I got my license.

I bought my CL with 23k on it. Shifted like dookie since day one. Its just not a firm enough shift.

Torque converter would be nice, but this car sees snow and I don't know that I want this thing banging shifts on ice!!!

If I do a manual swap, ill document the whole shebang for you guys. I have seen of a few on the forums who have done it.
